Job summary

Auction.com is hiring Senior Full Stack Software Engineers to build and evolve the platform that powers our large residential real estate marketplace. You’ll work in React and TypeScript on the front end, with Node, Kotlin, and GraphQL services behind it, deployed on AWS and Kubernetes.

At senior level, you’ll own features end to end—from design through production—mentoring others and shaping architecture, while delivering scalable, reliable software with emphasis on performance and security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production applications.
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript, or comparable modern front-end technologies.
• Experience building backend services with Node.js, Kotlin/Java, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing and working with REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
• Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong automated testing practices across unit, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Experience designing scalable, distributed production systems.
• Strong judgment around performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Ability to independently own complex technical work from design through production.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to code/design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own complex features and technical solutions end to end—from design and architecture through build, test, deployment, and production support.
• Help raise the engineering bar through thoughtful design, code reviews, mentoring, and technical leadership.
• Design and deliver customer-facing features and the services that power them, balancing speed with scalability and long-term health.
• Shape technical approaches before development begins—identify tradeoffs and challenge assumptions.
• Test what you build with automated coverage wired into CI, and debug production issues across distributed systems.
