Job summary

Rapid Micro Biosystems is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a highly collaborative R&D team in Lexington, MA. You will design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack software, mentor teammates, and back up the Software Architect on key technical decisions.

The role emphasizes Azure cloud and on-prem deployments, RESTful services, and scalable, secure solutions. You will participate in Agile ceremonies and work closely with scientists, PMs, and engineers to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack software solutions for commercial products.
• Independently deliver features from concept through deployment with minimal supervision.
• Serve as the technical backup to the Software Architect and participate in architecture planning.
• Contribute to software architecture and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and performant.
• Develop front-end applications, back-end services, business logic, and database components.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and services, and collaborate with Product Management.
• Build and maintain automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes.
