Job summary

The Hertz Corporation is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and scale rental systems powering core business operations. You will work across the full technology stack, combining frontend interfaces with robust backend services to deliver customer-centric rental experiences.

The role requires 8+ years in software engineering, strong Java (17+), Spring, and AWS experience, plus hands-on work with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 6+ years of hands-on Java development.
• Strong expertise in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience designing and building scalable microservices and cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Experience with AI technologies (LLMs, conversational AI, chatbots, voice AI) and MCP/A2A or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka/RabbitMQ, Git, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps).
• Strong SQL knowledge; familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Experience in Agile environments with strong communication and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex user interfaces for web applications.
• Build and scale web systems focusing on frontend architecture using modern JavaScript frameworks (React) and related tools.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure smooth data flow.
• Optimize web applications for performance, accessibility, and usability.
• Maintain high code quality, test coverage, and a strong user experience.
• Drive frontend development process improvements and tooling.
• Partner with Product and Design to deliver high-value features.
• Contribute to frontend architecture and best practices.
