Job summary

EXL is seeking a Senior Full Stack / Software Engineer to drive cloud-native development, distributed systems, and AI-powered solutions. You will design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications using Python, microservices, and modern DevOps practices.

You will lead technical design discussions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, data, and business stakeholders to deliver Generative AI-enabled solutions, including LLM-powered workflows and RAG.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience designing enterprise-scale apps.
• Strong Python development with API frameworks (FastAPI/Flask).
• Experience with GCP and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and cloud-native solutions.
• Lead technical design discussions, establish architectural standards, and provide guidance to engineering teams.
• Develop and support Python-based applications and RESTful APIs using modern frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or similar technologies.
• Build and maintain microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures to support high-volume business processes.
• Design, optimize, and support cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Implement containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments through Kubernetes (GKE).
• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and efficient software delivery.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to define and deliver technical solutions.
• Design and support streaming and messaging solutions using Kafka or similar event-driven platforms.
• Develop scalable data processing solutions leveraging cloud-native data technologies such as BigQuery, BigTable, and SQL-based platforms.
• Ensure application reliability, performance, security, observability, and operational excellence through monitoring and optimization.
• Design, implement, and operationalize Generative AI solutions, including LLM-powered applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agent workflows.
• Integrate enterprise applications with AI platforms such as Vertex AI, Gemini, OpenAI, Claude, or similar technologies.
• Perform code reviews, mentor engineers, and promote software engineering best practices across teams.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to system architecture, automation, development processes, and engineering standards.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and support strategic technology initiatives.
