Job summary

Version 1 is seeking a highly skilled Senior/Staff AI Full Stack Engineer to join the AI products team. You will transform AI prototypes into production-grade products, designing end-to-end solutions from frontend interfaces to robust backend services and deployment pipelines.

You will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and infrastructure engineers to ensure seamless AI feature integration, with a product-minded approach and a strong emphasis on reliability and security.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in full stack development with a focus on AI-powered applications.
• Strong frontend skills with React (or Angular/Vue/Svelte).
• Experience building real-time streaming UIs using SSE or WebSockets.
• Backend development in Python with RESTful APIs (FastAPI or similar).
• Hands-on CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and testing.
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, Databricks, and Redis.
• Extensive AWS usage: EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Security best practices: OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, RBAC, secrets management.
• Excellent communication to explain complex tech to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Staff AI Full Stack Engineer to join our AI products team at Version 1. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying production-grade applications powered by Galaxy's AI platform. Your primary focus will be transforming AI prototypes into robust, scalable, and user-centric products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and infrastructure engineers, to ensure seamless integration of AI features into our solutions. The ideal candidate is a product-minded engineer with a strong full stack background, capable of handling end-to-end development from frontend interfaces to backend services and deployment pipelines. Your expertise will help shape the future of AI-driven products at Version 1, enabling clients to unlock the full potential of artificial intelligence in their operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in full stack development with a focus on AI-powered applications.
• Proficiency in frontend development using React or similar frameworks such as Angular, Vue, or Svelte.
• Experience building real-time streaming UIs using technologies like SSE or WebSockets for dynamic AI response rendering.
• Strong backend development skills in Python, with experience in building RESTful APIs and using frameworks like FastAPI or similar async Python frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, and automated testing.
• Solid understanding of databases and data platforms including PostgreSQL, Databricks, and Redis.
• Deep familiarity with AWS cloud services such as EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch, especially in the context of AI applications.
• Experience implementing security best practices including OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, RBAC, and secrets management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-have qualifications include experience within financial services, capital markets, digital assets/crypto, or AI infrastructure, as well as familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and AI platform evaluation from a product/UX perspective.

• Design and develop full stack AI-powered applications from scratch, utilizing Galaxy's AI platform components such as AgentCore, Bedrock, and SageMaker.
• Build responsive, high-quality frontends in React that provide engaging user experiences for AI-driven features.
• Develop scalable and robust backend services in Python that interface with large language models, agentic workflows, and enterprise data sources.
• Design and optimize data layers using PostgreSQL, Databricks, and Redis to meet specific application requirements.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to transform AI prototypes into production-ready solutions, addressing security, scalability, and reliability concerns.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes and Terraform for consistent, reliable deployment and scaling of applications.
• Ensure applications are well-instrumented with logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting for effective observability and supportability in production environments.
• Act as a technical advisor for teams starting new AI prototypes, providing guidance on architecture, best practices, and reusable patterns.
• Review prototype architectures, identify potential risks, and recommend improvements to streamline production deployment.
• Work closely with the AI Tech team to stay updated on Bedrock platform capabilities and roadmap developments.
• Engage with business stakeholders to translate real-world problems into effective AI product features.
• Mentor engineers across teams on full stack best practices, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
