Job summary

Spinach AI is seeking a hands-on builder who talks to customers, defines the UX, and ships features end-to-end. You will own the product workflow, combining product sense, design input, and engineering across React, Node.js, AWS, and scalable databases.

Expect hands-on coding, fast iterations, and collaboration with a small, fast-moving team. You will balance customer needs with quality and security, contributing to architecture decisions and deployment practices in a remote-by-default

Spinach AI is the system of record for conversation data, capturing conversations and turning them into centralized intelligence for teams and AI agents. Industry leaders rely on Spinach to power workflows and unlock strategic insights across the business. We’re a Y Combinator company backed by Zoom, Atlassian, and other leading VCs. We’re a small, experienced team moving fast in one of the most exciting spaces in enterprise software, as the CEO of Logitech put it: “If you don’t have an AI agent in every meeting, you’re missing out.”

How we work

Coding agents write almost all of our code. Everyone on the team ships changes to production. We deploy many times a day. Within a year we expect an agent to build, review, deploy and monitor a change on its own. The job is getting there without giving up quality or security: building the guardrails, tests and tooling that earn that trust.

We are not looking for a front-end engineer or a back-end engineer, we are looking for a builder. You will talk to the customer, understand the problem, decide the UX, build it, ship it, and close the loop with the customer. You are product manager, designer and engineer in one, with a real say in what we build and how.

We work remote by default, meet the whole team in person at least once a quarter, and co-work from time to time. Expect more face time during onboarding.

What you will work on

Retrieval — A user has hundreds of meetings. Chunking, embeddings, and getting the right context in front of the model at the right moment is unsolved.

Scale — Prototypes and first versions are starting to break. Deciding where to invest is the hard part.

Enterprise deployment — We run on Kubernetes today. Single-tenant and self-hosted are coming.

The agent workflow itself — Every step of building software got short. Connecting them into one coherent loop, with the right checks, is open work.

Who we are looking for

A builder. Someone with high agency who takes a fuzzy problem from spec to production without hand-holding.

You ship through coding agents as your default workflow, and you own the result. You read your own diff. You know what the agent did, what you did, and what you would change.

You have strong judgment about what to build and what to skip, and you can say why you skipped it.

You have real product taste. You use what you build before you ship it, and you fix what feels wrong.

You have shipped production software for years and are comfortable across the stack: React, Node, AWS, and a database you have had to scale.

You write clearly and work well async. When you hit a wall, you raise it early and come with options.

You have opinions about your tools and your craft, and you can defend them without digging in.
