Job summary

BC Forward is seeking a Web Application Security Engineer to join our contract team for approximately 12 months, with extension potential. The role spans Charlotte, NC; Chandler, AZ; and Las Colinas, TX, with a hybrid arrangement: 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

The candidate will configure and support layer 7 security controls, manage DNS and load balancing for HTTP/S traffic, and maintain firewall policies while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile product environment using

Responsibilities

• Configure and support layer 7 web security controls including rate limiting, WAF, bot mitigation, client lists, geolocation, mTLS, and certificates.
• Ensure secure operation of internet-facing web applications through advanced HTTP/S security practices.
• Manage DNS, geographic, and local load balancing configurations supporting HTTP/S traffic.
• Implement and maintain firewall policies for web application security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multi-layer enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to align security controls with business needs.
• Work within a product model using Jira/Kanban to manage tasks and workflows.
• Support enterprise change management processes for secure deployment of web security configurations.

Web Application Security Engineer

Day to Day Responsibilities

• Configure and support layer 7 web security controls including rate limiting, WAF, bot mitigation, client lists, geolocation, mTLS, and certificates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex enterprise systems.
• Experience working in Agile product models using Jira/Kanban.
• Familiarity with enterprise change management practices.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: Between $50 - $56 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
