Web Application Security Engineer
Position type: Contract (12 months w/ extension)
Location: Charlotte, NC/ Chandler, AZ/ Las Colinas, TX
Hybrid: 3 days onsite/ 2 day remote
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Configure and support layer 7 web security controls including rate limiting, WAF, bot mitigation, client lists, geolocation, mTLS, and certificates.
- Ensure secure operation of internet-facing web applications through advanced HTTP/S security practices.
- Manage DNS, geographic, and local load balancing configurations supporting HTTP/S traffic.
- Implement and maintain firewall policies for web application security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multi-layer enterprise systems.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to align security controls with business needs.
- Work within a product model using Jira/Kanban to manage tasks and workflows.
- Support enterprise change management processes for secure deployment of web security configurations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in web application security engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of HTTP/S, web applications, and web application security controls.
- Understanding of DNS, load balancing (geographic and local), and firewall policies.
- Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex enterprise systems.
- Experience working in Agile product models using Jira/Kanban.
- Familiarity with enterprise change management practices.
PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: Between $50 - $56 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
