Job summary

KellyMitchell Group partners with a leading airline provider to recruit an Application Security Engineer for a contract role in Fort Worth, TX. The position is hybrid, onsite three days per week, and supports the global Technology Risk Management team.

You will strengthen application security across the SDLC, develop security standards and controls, and help secure APIs and software development across multiple languages.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering.
Strong background in application security.
Understanding of application security vulnerabilities across applications developed in multiple programming languages.
Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
Experience using Python, Java, or PowerShell for security automation and security tool integrations.
Experience with application security concepts, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain application security standards, secure coding requirements, and security controls across the SDLC
Define and implement application and API security requirements, including secure architecture, authentication, authorization, and data protection controls
Establish and operationalize application security best practices, including threat modeling, secure design reviews, and vulnerability management
Configure, maintain, and optimize application security tools including SAST, SCA, DAST, secret scanning, API security, and vulnerability management platforms
Translate application security policies, standards, and architectural requirements into scalable security controls and governance processes
Develop security automation and developer-focused security solutions to improve application security and vulnerability management
Collaborate with security professionals, developers, project teams, and stakeholders to identify and address application security risks

Job Summary

Our client, a leading airline provider, is seeking an Application Security Engineer to join their global Technology Risk Management team. This role will focus on strengthening application security across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), developing security standards and controls, and supporting secure application and API development.

Contract Details

Type: Contract Duration: 18 weeks Location: Fort Worth, TX Work Arrangement: Hybrid — onsite 3 days per week Interview Process: Virtual and in-person Hours: 8 hours per day Assessment: Required

Core Responsibilities

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering or related cybersecurity roles
Experience designing and implementing cloud security solutions and architectures
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security features
Experience with SAST, SCA, DAST, API security, secret scanning, or vulnerability management tools
Experience with regulatory compliance and industry standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, or ISO 27001
Airline industry experience
Advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $32.00 and $45.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
