Job summary

ISN seeks an Information Security Analyst to provide technical and business support on information security matters and assist in implementing and tuning security systems to defend against cyber threats.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of technical experience, including 2+ years in security, and hold certifications such as CISSP/CEH/GIAC. Cloud security and AI-assisted tooling familiarity are a plus. Dallas-based with in-office attendance initially.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical experience, including 2+ years in an information security role.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
• Hands-on with mitigating security controls (EDR/XDR, IPS/IDS, DLP, email security, proxies, MFA, VPN/Zero Trust).
• Hands-on fluency with SIEM, SOAR, and EDR platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted security tooling and AI/LLM risk awareness.
• Experience with cloud technologies on Azure and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and tune SIEM, EDR/XDR, email security, and cloud security platforms.
• Support vulnerability management activities including scanning and remediation tracking.
• Respond to EDR alerts, investigate, contain, and remediate threats.
• Provide timely detection and alerting of possible attacks, intrusions, and anomalous activity.
• Collaborate with security team to implement CSF 2.0 processes.
• In-office attendance up to two times per week for the first 90 days; relocation if not local.

Job description

The Position: The Information Security Analyst position will be responsible for providing technical and business assistance for a wide variety of information security related matters. The Information Security Analyst will assist in the implementation and on-going maintenance/tuning of security systems to protect the organization's networks from cyber attacks.

Who should apply?

• 4+ years of technical experience, including 2+ years in an information security technical role
• CISSP, CEH, GIAC, CompTIA Security+/CySA+, or similar relevant information security certifications.
• Hands on experience with mitigating security controls (EDR/XDR, IPS/IDS, DLP, email security, web and network proxies, URL content filtering, multi-factor authentication, VPN/zero trust network access) and how they work in an overall defense in depth risk assessment methodology.
• Hands-on fluency with SIEM, SOAR, and EDR platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike) for security monitoring, investigation, and response, with the ability to ramp up quickly on existing tooling.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted security tooling and an understanding of security risks associated with AI and large language model (LLM) technologies (e.g., data leakage, prompt injection).
• Experience with cloud technologies and architecture is an asset, including cloud security capabilities in platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitor, operate, and tuneSIEM, EDR/XDR, email security, and cloud security platforms.
• Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, risk-based prioritization, and remediation tracking
• Respond to endpoint detection and response (EDR) alertinvestigating, containing, and remediating threats, and escalating as required.
• Provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of possible attacks/intrusions, anomalous activities, and misuse activities and distinguish these incidents and events from benign activities.
• Working across the security team to help implement various processes and technologies related to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0.
• Employees must be within a commutable distance to the Dallas, TX office. Relocation is required for candidates not already local to the DFW area.
• In-office attendance up to two times per week for the first 90 days of employment.
• After 90 days completion, you will have an option to work remotely with at least 1 in-person engagement required monthly (team collaboration day, ISN events, team events, performance reviews, etc.).
