Progressive Insurance is seeking a senior full stack developer specializing in Node and React for Progressive Life. You will join a cross-functional team to build, scale, and maintain life insurance applications, delivering features with unit tests and documentation.

Work will involve collaborating with designers, product strategists, QA, and vendors, aligning with Agile delivery and Scrum practices across teams at the Mayfield Village campus. Hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology or related field and minimum four years of related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software.
• In lieu of the above, a high school diploma or GED or higher and a minimum of six years related work experience designing, programming, and supporting software may be accepted.

Responsibilities

As a senior full stack developer - Node/React in Progressive Life, you'll work within a cross-functional team to build and scale our life insurance applications. You'll provide creative direction and problem-solving for various projects at different stages of their life cycles. Using a modern JavaScript framework, you'll develop new features, refine and maintain existing ones, and write unit tests and documentation for ongoing development and maintenance. You'll work closely with designers, UX, product strategists, test engineers, and third-party vendors to ensure a shared understanding of the product. Additionally, you'll collaborate with the technical lead and other developers to ensure consistent and coherent architectural patterns across projects and Level20. You'll leverage your experience to debug complex applications and optimize best practices.

Progressive Life began within Level20, Progressive's growth incubator, where we built a term life insurance product and business from the ground up. After a successful launch and early growth, we've spun out into the Strategy group, now focused on scaling our products, capabilities, and impact. You'll be joining the organization at a pivotal moment as we advance our transition to Agile delivery, leading the adoption and execution of Scrum practices across teams.

Must Have Qualifications

Preferred Skills

• Demonstrated expertise in React with other JavaScript ES6 concepts and use within a modern JavaScript-based framework such as Vue or Angular
• Experience in Node with other server-side programming (Go, Rust, C#, Java, Python) and GraphQL
• Experience with both RDBMS (Postgres) and NoSQL database technologies
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)

Compensation

• $118,000 - $137,000/year depending on experience
• Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
