Job summary

Trafigura seeks a highly skilled technologist to lead the end-to-end development of web applications, workflows, and automation in a fast-paced North America IT environment. You will leverage AI tooling (Claude Code/Cowork) across the full software lifecycle and connect solutions to systems and data via MCP servers.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of full-stack development with 4+ years in a tech lead role, plus experience in commodities trading or related industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience.
• 4+ years in a technical lead role.
• Experience with commodities trading or related industries.
• Experience designing, building, and consuming APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• Fluent use of AI coding tools across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end development of web applications, workflows, and automation solutions.
• Evaluate problems and design architecture for web apps, workflows, or AI agents.
• Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks and bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Build and maintain integrations, including AI agent tools and MCP servers.
• Deploy and scale new instances in response to performance and business needs.
