Fidelity Charitable seeks a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer for our Durham regional campus. You’ll lead architectural direction, mentor engineers, and drive end‑to‑end delivery of scalable, accessible software solutions that align with business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of hands‑on full stack development experience.
• 3–5 years of technical leadership experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in back‑end technologies (Spring Boot) and/or front‑end technologies (Angular TypeScript).
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring framework.
• Solid understanding of SQL and ORM tools such as Hibernate.
• Proficient in JavaScript and AngularJS.
• Experience with Oracle and MongoDB databases.
• Experience with AWS and other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Docker, NgRx and RxJS is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive engineering standards, best practices, and technical strategy across teams and projects.
• Provide technical leadership across all phases of the software development lifecycle from architecture to deployment.
• Influence system architecture and design decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with senior developers, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to align on technical vision.
• Serve as hands‑on technical leader contributing to high‑impact development efforts with ownership.
• Establish and uphold high standards for code quality through reviews and governance practices.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering technical growth and leadership.
• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in engineering practices and tooling.
• Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
