Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates, located in Los Alamos, NM, seeks a Senior Java/Spring Developer for hybrid work. You will lead design, development, testing, and maintenance of secure Java/Spring applications within an Agile team environment.

The role requires strong Java/Spring expertise, experience with Angular and MySQL, and the ability to guide architecture and ensure security standards. DOE Q clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/SE with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive Java development experience.
• Advanced Spring Framework / Spring Boot experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting complex enterprise applications.
• Strong TDD, unit testing, and automated testing experience.
• Technical leadership within Agile teams.
• Ability to solve complex problems with stringent security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of secure Java/Spring applications.
• Define technical solutions and influence architecture across multiple applications.
• Guide Angular development, backend integration, and MySQL design and optimization.
• Promote TDD, automated testing, code quality, and secure development practices.
• Lead Agile activities including code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement.
• Independently resolve highly complex application, integration, database, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.
• Mentor developers and provide technical direction and coordination as needed.
• Manage priorities, schedules, and technical initiatives across multiple applications.
