Job summary

Adams, Jenkins & Cheatham, PC is seeking a seasoned Bookkeeper to join our Midlothian, VA team, working with the Tax and Audit groups to provide bookkeeping and accounting services for multiple clients in a deadline-driven environment.

You will prepare financial statements, reconciliations, payroll, tax deposits and filings, and assist on special projects. A 5+ year bookkeeping background and proficiency in QuickBooks are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
• Knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Thomson Reuters Software a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, bank reconciliations, trial balances and general ledger entries
• Prepare and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare and maintain payroll, tax deposits and quarter/annual filings
• Prepare sales and other local tax filings
• Prepare Form 1099
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Knowledge of income tax returns and preparation is a plus
