Job summary

Standard Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. is seeking an experienced full-time accounting professional to manage day-to-day bookkeeping and reporting to the Controller.

The role supports monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, payroll processing, A/P/A/R tasks, and tax filings in a locally owned HVAC services business. Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting or finance required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience including full bookkeeping cycle.
• Advanced Excel and QuickBooks knowledge required.
• Experience with payroll processing, A/P, A/R, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• High integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational follow-through.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure monthly, quarterly & year-end close happens accurately and on time.
• Adhere to federal, state, and local requirements; file reports and advise management on actions.
• Maintain a coherent system of accounts and filing.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements.
• Prepare general ledger entries and reconcile accounts.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and other assigned accounts.
• Perform daily cash management and deposit posting.
• Post customer payments to QuickBooks; process A/P transactions and payments.
• Process bi-weekly payroll.
• Create and balance A/R aging report and monitor receivables.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare, file, and pay monthly sales & use taxes.
• Assist with year-end activities, audits, tax preparations and other reporting.
• Act as backup for Accounting Administrator.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and payroll data.
• All other duties as assigned.
