Job summary

OUC - The Reliable One is seeking a Senior Fuel Portfolio Analyst to oversee daily fuel purchasing, trading, and scheduling for our electric generation plants. You will lead hedging, reporting, and budgeting while aligning with regulatory requirements and operational needs.

You will mentor junior analysts and collaborate with cross‑functional teams, with rotation on call duties during weather events and outages. A strong background in energy markets and data tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years fuel logistics & financial analysis experience including commodity trading/scheduling.
• Skills in risk management, hedging, regulatory reporting, budgeting, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily fuel trading, scheduling, and back‑office operations.
• Analyze natural gas, pipeline capacity, oil, and coal positions; make recommendations.
• Manage coal train logistics, scheduling, and reporting; vendor coordination.
• Trade and schedule natural gas for contract gas units.
• Approve invoices for natural gas, coal, and power; ensure accuracy.
• Lead hedging, regulatory reports (EIA 923, SERC, PSC, FEM) and month‑end close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and proformas; assist with budgeting.
• Mentor junior analysts; collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
