Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer for Fuel Cell System Testing at our Slingerlands, NY headquarters. You will design, execute and refine test methods to validate fuel cell systems, working with cross-functional teams to align with product requirements and long-term roadmap.

The role demands 10+ years in a tech manufacturing setting, hands-on lab experience, and proficiency with LabVIEW, MATLAB and Python. Travel up to 10% for field tests and supplier support may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, engineering preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in a technology manufacturing environment.
• Experience with fuel cells, flow batteries, or similar technologies.
• Experience testing products for certification to SAE and ISO standards.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW or similar software for test automation.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, VBA, Python or similar tools for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans and protocols to evaluate fuel cell system performance.
• Conduct durability and accelerated stress tests to identify failure modes.
• Lead design verification and product validation activities.
• Perform parameter characterization and DOEs to optimize operating conditions.
• Document failures and perform root cause analysis.
