Job summary

Plug Power Inc. seeks a Principal Engineer for Fuel Cell System Testing in Slingerlands, NY. You will plan and execute test strategies, evaluate performance, and drive design verification for fuel cell systems, lab and field testing, with emphasis on reliability and safety.

You will mentor team members, analyze data with MATLAB/Python, and coordinate across cross-functional teams to support product vision and certification programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, engineering preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in technology manufacturing environments.
• Experience with SAE/ISO standards and product certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans to evaluate fuel cell systems and materials.
• Lead design verification and product validation activities.
• Perform durability and accelerated stress testing to identify failure modes.
• Document failures using 8D, root cause analysis and statistics.
• Mentor teammates on test strategy, setups and data reporting.
