Job summary

HyAxiom, Inc. in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Site Design Engineer to design and optimize site layouts for fuel cell systems across diverse environments, focusing on cost-effective, code-compliant layouts.

You will collaborate with customers and EPC firms, integrate with electrical distribution and backup power, and ensure safety, scalability, and maintainability while meeting project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience designing site layouts for complex energy systems.
• Experience with data center design is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of construction standards, regulations, and codes.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit).

Responsibilities

• Design site layouts for fuel cell systems for new customers, optimizing space, safety, and scalability.
• Collaborate with customers to understand energy requirements and constraints, delivering tailored layouts.
• Identify opportunities to reduce installation costs via innovative construction methods and materials.
• Coordinate with EPC firms to align site layouts with design and cost constraints.
• Ensure designs meet NFPA, OSHA, IEC and local codes and permitting requirements.
• Plan integration of fuel cell systems with existing infrastructure and MEP yards.
