Job summary

Scale AI is seeking a Senior Frontier Agent Engineer (Forward Deployed Engineering) to work directly with strategic enterprise customers to architect, integrate, deploy, and operate production AI systems.

You will design production agent architectures, integrate with customer systems, deploy AI into mission-critical workflows, and help shape engineering best practices for the next generation of enterprise AI.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems fundamentals.
• Strong Python programming with production-grade experience.
• Experience deploying AI-powered apps using modern LLM APIs, agent frameworks, or vector databases.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP in production environments.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with enterprise teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills in ambiguous technical environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy production AI systems within enterprise environments.
• Design scalable agent architectures combining LLMs, retrieval, memory, tools, and data.
• Integrate AI with customer systems ensuring security and compliance.
• Develop production runtimes, orchestration, and tool integrations for enterprise AI.
• Collaborate with Scale teams to improve the platform and share patterns.
• Lead technical conversations with strategic enterprise accounts.
