Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for eCommerce to lead the software engineering delivery organization behind Ford.com’s vehicle purchase experience. You will guide Engineering Managers who lead 2–3 Scrum teams building modern front-end experiences in React and Next.js.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and platform teams to translate priorities into actionable roadmaps, driving delivery rigor and talent development at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field required.
• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including front-end/web development.
• 10+ years of people leadership, including at least 5+ years managing managers.
• 5+ years of leading Agile/Scrum delivery, esp. in eCommerce or consumer-facing products.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineering Managers and 2–3 Scrum teams delivering front-end experiences in React/Next.js.
• Set technical direction, delivery cadence, and talent development across the engineering org.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Architecture, and platform teams to translate priorities into roadmaps and sprint plans.
• Drive Agile delivery excellence: planning, backlog health, velocity, predictability, removing impediments.
• Establish front-end standards and patterns for React/Next.js across teams; ensure scalability and quality.
• Coordinate with backend/platform teams to integrate front-end capabilities with services.
• Monitor delivery health metrics and address risks to timelines and quality.
• Champion talent strategy, onboarding, skills development, and succession planning.
