Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Front-End Software Engineer for the Vehicle Dashboard product within the Global Own Engineering Team in Enterprise Technology. You will design scalable, secure, customer-focused web apps using React.js, Next.js, and/or AEM, integrating with microservices and cloud-based services.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality UI, improve performance, and ensure accessibility across browsers and devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering modern web applications.
• Strong hands-on expertise with React/Next.js or comparable front-end frameworks.
• Solid understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and accessible, user-centric interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver responsive front-end UI architecture for micro frontends, ensuring high performance, WCAG-compliance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop modules within eCommerce products, ensuring high-quality front-end components and interfaces.
• Model modern software practices (BDD, CI/CD, 12-factor apps) and API design to integrate with Ford and external cloud services.
• Utilize AI coding assistants (Ford LLM, GitHub Copilot) in daily workflow with prompts and guardrails.
• Implement UI features based on Figma specs.
• Analyze and improve performance using Lighthouse, Dynatrace, and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with frontend and backend architects to translate design into implementation requirements.
