Job summary

IBM Software is seeking an experienced frontend engineer to design, prototype and implement UI features for both on-premise and cloud platforms. You will collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams and act as a frontend SME on TypeScript and modern component architectures.

The role involves working with backend systems, leading large frontend projects, and mentoring engineers while maintaining high code quality through comprehensive testing and secure UI patterns.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional frontend experience.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and React/Angular/Vue/Ember or similar.
• Proven track record leading large-scale frontend initiatives including framework migrations and design system implementations.
• Experience building comprehensive testing strategies (unit/integration/e2e) with Jest, Vitest, Playwright, Puppeteer.
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype and implement UI features for on-premise/self-managed and cloud-based software.
• Collaborate with Product Design, Product Management, and engineering teams.
• Act as a frontend SME focusing on TypeScript, modern component architectures, and secure UI patterns.
• Work with backend systems and create interfaces for wide usability.
• Lead frontend projects, migrations, and modular architecture efforts.
• Debug complex UI issues, API integration, performance, and security concerns.
• Advocate for technical roadmap improvements and team processes.
• Mentor frontend engineers and promote best practices.
• Maintain high code quality through thorough testing from development to deployment.
