Job summary

IBM Software in the Armonk area is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to design, prototype and implement UI features for on-premise and cloud-based software. You will collaborate with Product Design, Product Management and engineering teams to build secure, scalable interfaces using modern JavaScript and TypeScript.

You will lead large frontend initiatives, mentor engineers, and help drive architectural decisions.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional experience building and maintaining frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.
Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with React/Angular/Vue/Ember or similar.
Proven track record of leading or contributing to large-scale frontend initiatives including design system migrations and data-layer modernization.
Experience with testing strategies (Jest, Vitest, Playwright, Puppeteer) and API mocking/service virtualization.
Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.

Responsibilities

Design, prototype and implement UI features for on-premise/self-managed and cloud-based software.
Collaborate with Product Design, Product Management, and engineers.
Lead and execute large-scale frontend projects and design system migrations.
Debug and resolve complex UI issues including API integration and performance optimization.
Mentor frontend engineers and promote best practices in development processes.
Maintain high code quality through comprehensive testing from development to deployment.
