Job summary

Palo Alto Networks, Inc. is advancing a brand-new AIRS frontend initiative, seeking visionary frontend leaders to design the enterprise UI for AI runtime security across on-premise and cloud environments.

As a Principal/Sr. Staff Frontend Engineer, you will steer the frontend architecture from the ground up, building scalable web apps to visualize threat classifications, tune ML models, and defend against adversarial threats, while guiding a high-performance UI team.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field with 8+ years of software engineering focused on UI or Full Stack Development.
• Experience setting up robust frontend toolchains for testing, documentation, and bundling using modern tooling (npm/yarn, Webpack, monorepos).
• Demonstrated history of Test-Driven Development using Jest, Mocha, or Jasmine.
• Deep understanding of web security best practices, code vulnerabilities, and type-safe code.
• Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end frontend architecture across on-premise, public, and private cloud environments.
• Research, recommend, and implement modern web frameworks, UI architectures, and micro-frontend strategies for high-volume, low-latency security platforms.
• Collaborate with product management, UX designers, and ML/backend engineers to translate complex requirements into intuitive UI workflows.
• Establish frontend engineering standards, including build processes (npm/yarn, Webpack, monorepos) and CI/CD toolchains, plus TDD.
• Ensure frontend security, mitigating vulnerabilities and enforcing type-safe practices.
• Mentor the UI team through code and architectural reviews to drive excellence.
