Role Overview

A leading hedge fund is seeking a Front Office Trade Support Engineer to join the dynamic trading environment. This role sits directly on the trading desk, working alongside portfolio managers, traders, and quants to ensure the seamless execution of the strategies. You’ll be the first line of defense for trade-related issues and a key contributor to the stability and evolution of the trading systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide real-time technical and functional support for trading applications and order management systems.
• Resolve real-time trading issues across our Order Management System (OMS)/Execution Management System (EMS), Bloomberg, and related platforms.
• Monitor trade flows, risk, and P&L to quickly identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with traders, quants, and developers to troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes.
• Automate manual processes and enhance monitoring tools to reduce operational risk.
• Manage release deployments and coordinate with development teams for system upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with market regulations and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in trade support, production engineering, or a similar front-office role (preferably buy-side or sell-side).
• Experience working with Order Management Systems (OMS), Execution Management Systems (EMS), and Portfolio Management Systems (PMS) trading stacks.
• Strong knowledge of financial products (equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python, Perl, or similar).
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments and SQL databases.
• Experience of FIX.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills; thrives in high-pressure trading environments.
