Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned frontend engineer to design, build, and deliver features across responsive web and React Native apps for pet-parent users. You will own end-to-end delivery, translate requirements to code, and work with a modern toolchain including Next.js, GitHub, and AI-assisted tooling.

You will create reusable UI components with Tailwind and React Native patterns, integrate with APIs, ensure accessibility and security, and mentor junior engineers while improving performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• Engineering experience building production web or mobile applications.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with hands-on production experience in React; React Native experience preferred.
• Foundational developer toolchain experience: Git/GitHub, Node.js, Next.js, VS Code, React DevTools, Postman, Expo CLI, Azure CLI, and BrowserStack.
• Experience building Backend-for-Frontend services and Web APIs in .NET (C#) to support customer-facing apps.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot Enterprise) and containerized environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy features across responsive web and React Native mobile apps.
• Own end-to-end delivery of product areas, including design, implementation, code reviews, deployment, and post-release monitoring.
• Translate requirements and UX designs into clean, maintainable front-end code.
• Work with the team's toolchain: Git/GitHub, Node.js, Next.js, VS Code, React DevTools, Postman, Expo CLI, Azure CLI, BrowserStack.
• Build reusable UI components using Tailwind/NativeWind and React Native patterns for web/mobile.
• Integrate with backend APIs, manage state, and optimize performance.
• Implement secure authentication and handle tokens securely.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and mobile release processes.
• Collaborate with designers and product managers to refine requirements.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing and reviews.
• Identify technical debt and performance issues and drive improvements.
• Stay current with React and React Native ecosystem.
