Job summary

Momentum Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead a team of UI developers while contributing hands-on across the full software lifecycle.

You will drive front-end architecture, translate UX/UI designs into accessible production interfaces, and collaborate with backend teams on APIs and data flows. Strong back-end experience and security clearance are required to support mission-critical projects.

Qualifications

• Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical direction to software development teams.
• Strong proficiency with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience designing front-end architectures and reusable components.
• Experience translating UX/UI designs into accessible production-ready apps.
• Full-stack development experience, including backend APIs.
• Backend development with Node.js, Python, or Java.
• Experience designing/integrating APIs and data flows between front-end and backend.
• Experience reviewing, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting complex software.
• Experience in Agile software development lifecycle.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of UI/front-end developers, providing technical direction and code review.
• Architect and implement scalable front-end solutions using modern web frameworks.
• Translate UX/UI prototypes into responsive, accessible production interfaces.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance software per system and user requirements.
• Analyze user requirements to derive design, functional, and performance needs.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs and data flow.
• Contribute to full-stack development including backend services and deployment pipelines.
• Review and test software components and document results.
• Debug existing software and resolve defects.
• Establish front-end coding standards and promote component reuse.
• Partner with UX/UI designers and stakeholders to preserve design intent.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and cross-browser issues; address technical debt.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies.
• Support integration of existing software into new environments.
• Develop algorithms to meet system performance standards.
• Advise on hardware/software trade-offs and use of COTS/GOTS solutions.
• Perform requirements analysis and decomposition to components.
• Ensure accessibility compliance (Section 508 and WCAG).
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
