Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II – AEM / React to support customer-facing digital experiences across Walgreens.com, including the content management system, search, store locator, and product pages. The role centers on front-end development with JavaScript and React, plus enterprise web apps using Adobe Experience Manager Sites.

Hybrid work schedule: four days onsite in Deerfield, IL and one day remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering/Software field
• 4+ years of software engineering experience in web apps or microservices
• Experience writing code for online applications, microservices, or deployment automation
• Experience with front-end using JavaScript/React and back-end with Node.js/Java
• Experience leading teams and mentoring engineers
• Experience with accessibility, security, and performance in web apps

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems for enhancements and new products.
• Delivers features with high quality meeting release plans.
• Leads daily work of the assigned team and adjusts priorities.
• Owns a functional area, writes test plans, and sets measurable goals.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and external vendors to improve workflows.
• Participates in architecture discussions and sets project schedules.
• Ensures scalable, secure, accessible, high-performing digital experiences.
