Horizontal Inc. is seeking a Senior Front End Developer on a 3-month contract to join our development team. You will collaborate with cross-functional groups on enterprise Next.js and React solutions, focusing on delivering high-quality technical work.

You will implement UI features, ensure accessibility per WCAG 2.x AA, and help set standards across teams while employing modern development practices. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in front-end, strong API integration, and experience with React

Qualifications

As a Senior Front End Developer (Single Page Applications), on Horizontal’s development team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams on multiple accounts focusing on delivering high quality technical solutions in the single page application space in addition to helping set a broader vision and path forward for the continued adoption of modern development practices across teams. You will execute high-quality technical solutions on time and on budget using modern development methods. You will help drive innovative and effective user experience through technology and evangelize common standards and best practices across the front-end team.

What you’ll do:

• Collaborate with Horizontal Digital and/or client and project management teams, tech leads, architects, developers and designers on the implementation and development of enterprise Nextjs and React solutions including data, display, information architecture, and 3rd party platform integrations
• Implement platform specific solutions and SDKs involving Nextjs and React, specifically Sitecore, Drupal and potentially other platforms (like Contentful and Vercel)
• Implement project specifications using a mix of Nextjs and React core functionality, community modules, and custom developed modules that adhere to Nextjs and React community coding standards
• Identify new technologies, frameworks, and processes that enhance our ability to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers

What you bring:

• Three or more years of experience
• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g., Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs
• Expertise in the “back end of the front end”, specifically application and business logic, API and service integration, Consuming user interface code and working with user interface developers
• Expertise with front end tooling and package management (Webpack, npm, Gulp, etc)
• Competent in other front-end technologies like HTML and CSS
• Competence in semantic and accessible applications and presentation
• Experience working with WCAG 2.x AA guidelines and implementation
• Experience with version control tools (Git) and industry standard branching and merging practices
• Education – B.S. or BA or work experience equivalent
