Job summary

iDbase Software is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable frontend applications using React. You will drive architecture decisions, establish best practices, and mentor engineers to raise the team’s technical capabilities.

You’ll collaborate with backend teams, own major frontend initiatives, and shape the platform’s evolution toward full-stack capabilities. This is a contract position based in Hyattsville, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Frontend Architecture and Technical Direction

Help shape frontend architecture and establish patterns that can be used across the team

Make technical decisions and clearly communicate the reasoning and trade-offs behind them

Design frontend applications and architecture at scale, thinking beyond individual features to the wider platform

Contribute to the ongoing frontend rewrite and the long-term technical direction of the platform

Identify technical risks, dependencies and areas of technical debt, and drive their resolution

Advanced Frontend Development and Delivery

Design, build and maintain complex frontend applications using React

Take ownership of larger technical initiatives and projects from initial idea through to delivery

Work closely with other engineers to deliver larger pieces of functionality

Work effectively within large or complex codebases

Learn and contribute to the broader technology stack as the team moves toward full-stack engineering

Code Quality and Engineering Standards

Review code and ensure adherence to standards, design patterns and best practices

Help improve development practices, code quality and application performance

Investigate difficult technical problems and drive them through to resolution

Work with backend engineers and APIs to ensure a clean boundary between frontend and backend systems

Technical Leadership and Mentorship

Provide practical technical guidance to other engineers

Mentor and help intermediate engineers work through problems

Take responsibility for a technical area so the wider team can focus on delivery

Bring and articulate technical opinions, while remaining open to alternative approaches

Contribute to technical discussions and knowledge-sharing across the team

Qualifications:
