Job summary

Evolent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the frontend design, development, and deployment of high-performance features for the Evolent Platform. You will work with product, UX, and other engineers to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions in React and Next.js (TypeScript).

You will mentor peers, influence front-end architecture, and leverage AI-assisted tools while ensuring accessibility, security, and maintainability across the product.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years building production web apps with React and TypeScript.
• Experience with Next.js, including Server and Client Components, SSR, and streaming.
• Experience building streaming or real-time UIs with SSE/WebSockets.
• Experience with REST APIs and backend-for-frontend patterns.
• Experience with Entra ID / OpenID Connect authentication.
• Strong WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and 508 accessibility knowledge.
• Experience with Vitest/Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright.
• Experience with Docker and GitHub Actions CI/CD.
• Proficient with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of complex front-end features in React/Next.js.
• Build Server and Client Components with read-your-writes for forms.
• Integrate BFF endpoints with .NET and Python services.
• Build data-heavy screens using KendoReact or MUI.
• Collaborate with product, UX, and engineers to translate business needs.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive front-end architecture discussions.
