Job summary

Evolent is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to drive the front-end architecture for the Evolent Platform, using React and Next.js (TypeScript). You will mentor the front-end team and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver fast, accessible, and auditable agent-to-human handoffs.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development, framework upgrades, and secure, scalable UI design, with a focus on performance and accessibility.

Qualifications

7+ years of professional software development experience.
4+ years building production web applications with React and TypeScript.
2+ years leading teams of 3+ software engineers.
Strong experience with Next.js, SSR, streaming and caching.
Experience with AI-enabled UIs and agent-driven interfaces.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and OpenTelemetry.
Experience implementing authentication with Entra ID / OpenID Connect.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and delivery of the agent-to-human handoff experience.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the front-end team.
Oversee the full front-end lifecycle from concept to production.
Collaborate with product, design, clinical stakeholders and engineers to prioritize work.
Plan framework and library upgrades, including major Next.js migrations.
