Job summary

RealPage, Inc. is seeking a Senior Fraud Strategist to design and optimize fraud policies across onboarding and payments workflows.

You will write and validate SQL-driven analyses, identify fraud patterns, and translate insights into practical decisioning rules that balance risk reduction with customer experience. You will partner with analytics, product, engineering, and risk operations to deploy scalable controls, monitor performance, and refine thresholds as fraud signals evolve.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of full-time experience in fraud strategy, fraud analytics, payments risk, data science, financial crime, risk operations strategy, or a related technical risk function.
• Advanced, hands-on SQL experience is mandatory. Candidates must be able to independently write, troubleshoot, and explain SQL queries used to source data, validate hypotheses, identify fraud patterns, assess false positives, and evaluate rule or control performance; dashboard-only experience is not sufficient for this role.
• Demonstrated experience developing or optimizing fraud rules, thresholds, decision logic, treatment paths, controls, or monitoring strategies based on independently sourced and analyzed data.
• Exposure to data science, statistics, experimentation, model evaluation, Python/R, feature development, segmentation, or analytical methods used in fraud or risk decisioning.
• Experience working with fraud operations, risk analytics, data science, product, engineering, compliance, or payment operations stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and optimize fraud risk policies, rules, thresholds, and monitoring controls across onboarding and transaction workflows.
• Provide data-backed recommendations for auto-approval criteria, manual-review routing, holds, restrictions, and escalation thresholds.
• Document strategy rationale, rule logic, data sources, and monitoring plans; communicate results to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, compliance, and payment ops to implement tooling and data availability for fraud decisioning.
• Monitor strategy performance and tune controls based on ongoing results and new fraud signals.
