Job summary

STR’s Cyber Division is seeking a Senior FPGA Reverse Engineer to apply a digital hardware design background within a multidisciplinary team addressing FPGA reverse engineering challenges. You will perform RE tasks and support software development to automate processes, focusing on netlist analysis and RTL simulations.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s in Computer or Electrical & Computer Engineering with 5+ years of related experience, strong problem solving, and experience with Verilog,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain TS security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Strong problem solving and ability to apply technical background to non-traditional problems.
• Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog and VHDL.
• Experience developing FPGA applications including design, synthesis and configuration.
• Deep knowledge of Altera/Intel and Xilinx platforms, Quartus, Vivado, RTL simulation and build workflows.
• Software development experience in Python, C or C++.
• Ability to brief STR customers and internal staff on RE findings.

Responsibilities

• Perform FPGA reverse engineering work within a team to identify behavioral details of an application
• Model, test, and document RE findings using hardware modeling and simulation platforms
• Prepare reports and presentations for STR’s customers and collaborators detailing FPGA RE findings
• Assist in research for emerging FPGA and hardware reverse engineering capabilities
• Develop software supporting STR’s FPGA reverse engineering capabilities and identify new areas for tool development
• Participate in design reviews and testing for FPGA RE tools
