Job summary

Jobtailor in San Diego is seeking an experienced FPGA/Modem Design engineer to design and simulate complex systems. You will work with Ultrascale+ and Versal, implementing VHDL and SystemVerilog, and handling high-speed SerDes and multiple interfaces.

The role requires 10+ years of FPGA/modem design experience, strong scripting skills, and familiarity with Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C, UART. Government clearance is a plus, with additional SDR and PetaLinux expertise welcomed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in FPGA/modem design.
• Experience with designing and simulating FPGA-based systems.
• Experience with Ultrascale+ and Versal platforms.
• VHDL and SystemVerilog proficiency.
• Strong scripting skills in Python/Perl/Bash/Tcl.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, Interlaken, PCIe, SPI, I2C, UART interfaces.
• Active government clearance (nice to have).
• Background in software-defined radio/modem design (nice to have).
• Some PetaLinux background (nice to have).
• RF design background (nice to have).
• Encryption experience (nice to have).

Responsibilities

• Design and simulate FPGA/modem systems.
• Work with Ultrascale+ and Versal platforms.
• Develop designs using VHDL and SystemVerilog.
• Implement and work with high-speed SerDes.
• Develop scripting solutions using Python, Perl, Bash, Tcl, and related tools.
• Work with Ethernet, Interlaken, PCIe, SPI, I2C, UART, and other interfaces.
