Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an experienced Technical Staff Engineer - Design (FPGA Fabric) to lead FPGA fabric design and optimization for low-power, secure FPGA-based products.

You will work with architecture, hardware, and software teams to deliver cutting-edge FPGA solutions and contribute to advanced technology development. The role requires extensive FPGA fabric experience, Verilog/VHDL proficiency, and strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on performance, power, and area

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of industrial experience in hardware/FPGA design.
• Experience in full custom mixed signal design and/or layout on advanced nodes (FinFET).
• Experience with Verilog/VHDL and HDL design.
• Experience with Perl/Python scripting, and C/C++ programming.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop FPGA fabric architecture including interconnect, routing, logic elements, memory blocks, clocking.
• Analyze and optimize FPGA fabric for performance, power, area.
• Collaborate with system architects for seamless integration with processors and peripherals.
• Stay updated on FPGA industry standards and best practices.
• Prepare detailed design docs and test plans.
• Work with hardware, software, and systems teams to align fabric design with product requirements.
• Contribute to research and innovation in FPGA fabric technology.
