Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced FPGA/HDL engineer to develop HDL requirements and verification plans for HDL designs used in avionics and lunar transportation systems. You will design, verify, and document complex modules with DAL A safety requirements in radiation environments, collaborating with systems, hardware, and software teams.

Role requires strong RTL skills, 8+ years of FPGA/ASIC experience, and the ability to lead teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, aerospace or related fields.
  • 8+ years FPGA/ASIC design and verification experience.
  • Proficient in RTL coding using Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL (SystemVerilog preferred).
  • Strong understanding of FPGA design concepts including CDC, constraints, timing closure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop HDL requirements in coordination with systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering and subsystem owners.
  • Generate FPGA requirements document and develop verification plan.
  • Design, write HDL code, verify and document complex low level modules with DAL A safety requirements in a high radiation environment.
  • Ability to lead effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
  • 10% travel to other Blue Origin locations for meetings or large-scale company events.
