Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Senior Avionics FPGA Design & Verification Engineer to lead RTL design and verification for high-reliability satellite avionics. You will craft digital hardware architectures, implement critical SoC blocks, and optimize performance, power, and cost across cross-functional teams.

Role involves advanced verification techniques, prototype support, and flight integration, with a strong emphasis on timing, interfaces, and robust engineering practices.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of digital design and SoC architecture experience.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog or Verilog for RTL implementation.
• Experience with SoC integration and interface design.
• Understanding of digital timing and synchronization concepts.
• Knowledge of AXI/AHB and other bus protocols.
• Familiarity with synthesis tools and RTL-to-gates flow.
• Experience with simulation and debugging of complex digital systems.
• Strong FPGA background and FPGA tool flow.
• Solid knowledge of simulation-based testing using Questasim.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop digital hardware architectures for high-reliability satellite avionics.
• Create RTL code for critical SoC blocks and interfaces.
• Contribute to architecture optimization for performance, power, and cost.
• Collaborate on design verification for robust designs.
• Participate in advanced verification techniques (ABV/UVVM/Constrained Rand).
• Support prototype development and flight integration activities.
• Document design specifications and decisions; participate in design reviews.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex digital design issues.
• Define interfaces between digital hardware and firmware/software.
