Job summary

Brooksource in Niskayuna, NY is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to lead the integration of an MRI gradient driver prototype into a production MR platform. You will own a VHDL-based FPGA design responsible for real‑time control of high‑voltage power electronics, including 800V switching and gradient control.

The role covers FPGA development, synchronous digital design, PWM control, debugging and validation, and documentation to support production‑ready medical equipment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of FPGA and digital design experience.
• Strong VHDL development experience required.
• Experience with Intel/Altera FPGA platforms and Quartus tools.
• Ability to design real-time control in high‑power systems.

Responsibilities

• Integrate MRI gradient driver FPGA prototype into production MR platform.
• Own VHDL-based FPGA designs for real-time control of high‑voltage power electronics (800V).
• Develop synchronous digital logic, PWM control, state machines and timing analysis.
• Perform FPGA-based hardware integration, bring-up, debugging and validation.
• Support transition from lab prototype to production medical equipment; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for MR system integration and documentation.
• Document design processes and test results for regulatory purposes.
