Job summary

Curtiss-Wright TTC in Newtown, PA seeks a Senior FPGA Development Engineer to lead FPGA firmware design for rugged embedded systems. You will collaborate with systems, embedded software, and hardware teams to ensure high reliability and performance, while mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires 5+ years in FPGA hardware design, deep Verilog/VHDL expertise, and a track record in high-reliability environments. Eligible candidates must be a US citizen and able to obtain DOD security clearance.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years in hardware design with FPGA expertise.
• Experience across FPGA life cycle: requirements to validation.
• FPGA development using Verilog or VHDL.
• High-reliability design architecture and tradeoffs.
• Independent, ownership-minded problem solver.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Analytical, proactive problem-solver mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of FPGA firmware.
• Oversee FPGA design activities for performance and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership with systems engineers on FPGA architecture.
• Collaborate with embedded software and hardware teams on robust products.
• Create technical documentation: flow charts, specs, user docs.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide engineering leadership.
• Provide sustaining engineering for fielded FPGA-related products.
• Support end-product development as requested by management.
