Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead hands‑on development of advanced digital hardware and embedded electronics for imaging and sensing systems used in defense applications.

You will work on multi‑processor and FPGA‑based platforms, PCB assemblies, and embedded hardware, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to move designs from concept to production while solving complex technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience in digital hardware design, embedded electronics, or PCB design and development.
• Strong experience designing high‑speed digital circuit boards and complex hardware systems.
• Experience with embedded processors, memory architectures, and high‑speed interfaces such as PCIe, DDR3/DDR4, Ethernet, 1553, SERDES, Aurora, UART, MIPI, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing FPGA‑based hardware platforms utilizing AMD/Xilinx device families including Artix, Kintex, UltraScale, Zynq 7000, and Zynq MPSoC architectures.

Responsibilities

• Translate project requirements into hardware architectures and board‑level implementations.
• Design and develop PCB assemblies with embedded processors, FPGA devices, and high‑speed interfaces.
• Collaborate with Product, Software, Mechanical, Systems, FPGA, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Perform schematic capture and ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
• Lead bring‑up, integration, debug, validation, and testing of hardware across prototypes and production.
