Job summary

Lancesoft seeks a Senior Specialist, FPGA Digital Design Engineer for our Bristol, PA site. You will develop FPGA firmware for airborne telemetry, RF, and secure communications, translating system requirements into FPGA architecture and VHDL implementations.

Collaborate with RF, systems, electrical and software teams to verify designs, document thoroughly, and prepare for production including qualification and environmental testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related field.
• Minimum six years of relevant engineering experience, or four years with graduate degree.
• Five+ years of VHDL/FPGA toolchain experience and timing constrained designs.

Responsibilities

• Plan FPGA development activities across the full product lifecycle.
• Translate system and card-level requirements into FPGA specifications and architectures.
• Implement FPGA designs in VHDL with synthesis and timing closure.
• Verify FPGA functionality via simulation and on-target testing.
• Develop DSP/communication FPGA functions (filters, encoding, error correction).
• Follow disciplined firmware development processes and documentation.
• Create design review materials, block diagrams, interfaces, and test procedures.
• Collaborate with RF, systems, electrical, and software teams for integration.
• Prepare designs for production with qualification and environmental testing.
