Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking an FPGA Development Lead to shape high-reliability FPGA designs for launch vehicles, spacecraft, and ground systems. You will lead, mentor, and hands-on contribute across RTL, timing, verification, and lab bring-up in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You will collaborate with embedded software, hardware, GNC, and systems engineering to deliver robust FPGA solutions and drive best practices throughout the design lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of FPGA development experience with a strong RTL background.
• Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog/SystemVerilog for RTL design.
• Experience with FPGA lab bring-up, timing analysis, and integration with embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to FPGA engineers.
• Drive architecture, RTL coding, verification strategies, and timing closure.
• Own significant FPGA design portions from concept to integration.
• Collaborate with embedded software, hardware, GNC, and systems teams.
• Improve FPGA development processes and ensure high-reliability designs.
• Support lab bring-up, debugging, and problem resolution in flight hardware contexts.
