Job summary

Amentum seeks a senior hardware FPGA engineer to design and test FPGA-based solutions, collaborating with software, hardware, and system teams for timely delivery.

The role requires extensive VHDL experience, Xilinx FPGA expertise, and a TS/SCI clearance with poly. You will work in a fast-paced environment supporting DoD/government programs with a focus on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 12 years as a hardware design engineer in IC or microelectronic design or reverse engineering.
• 10 years programming in VHDL.
• 8 years with Xilinx FPGAs (Virtex II Pro/4/5/6).
• 5 years Linux and Unix experience.
• 5 years with XILINX ISE, Synplify Pro, and Modelsim.
• 5 years using Linux/Unix day-to-day.
• 1 year scripting (Perl, sh, bash, Python).
• Clearance TS/SCI with Poly is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test FPGA-based point solutions using HDL like VHDL.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and architectures.
• Optimize designs for performance, power, and area and verify with simulation tools.
• Document design specifications, test plans, and results.
• Provide ongoing support for field systems and ensure reliable operation.
