Job summary

Reliable Robotics in San Diego is seeking a Sr. FPGA Certification Engineer to lead the certification lifecycle of our FPGA-based avionics hardware.

You will author DO-254 plans, drive tool qualification, and coordinate with FAA DERs to ensure compliant, safe airborne electronics. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering, 10+ years in aviation hardware, and hands-on FPGA design/verification using standard tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of full-cycle aviation electronics hardware development experience.
• Experience with safety-critical FPGA certification in a DO-254 level A/B process.
• Professional experience designing and/or verifying FPGA digital logic using industry-standard design, simulation, and synthesis tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire certification lifecycle of the FPGA.
• Author DO-254 plans and standards; develop compliant processes for peer review and testing.
• Coordinate certification activities with the FAA and relevant DERs.
• Develop strategies for efficient verification of the product.
