Job summary

The Banner, a nonprofit, digital local news organization in Baltimore, seeks a Senior Finance Business Partner, FP&A to join our Finance team. You will support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, and work with leaders to understand the financial picture behind our work.

You will review expenses, prepare reports for executives, and assist with month-end close, variance analysis, and Power BI dashboards. This role reports to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of relevant FP&A experience.
• Strong financial analytics background.
• Experience building financial models and dashboards.
• Ability to communicate with executives and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and budget planning.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for executives and senior managers.
• Analyze expenses, trends, variances, and cost optimization opportunities.
• Liaise with department managers to support short- and long-term decisions.
• Participate in month-end close, variance analysis, and expense reconciliation.
• Assist with Power BI migration, dashboards, and data accuracy.
• Create ad hoc analyses with executives and senior managers.
