Banner Life Insurance Company in Frederick, MD is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the US Cost Control Team on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on budgeting, re-forecasting, and analyzing operating expenses to guide financial planning and control.

Responsibilities include building expense dashboards, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost allocation support, with collaboration across finance and business partners to drive P&L outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in business or quantitative field; CPA/CFA/MBA a plus.
• 4+ years in finance, BI, accounting, actuarial, or strategy roles; 2+ years in FP&A.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain financial dashboards (PowerBI) to monitor expenses and KPIs.
• Automate reporting using PowerBI, Excel, and PowerApps.
• Serve as SME on expense data structures and reporting logic.
• Collaborate with Financial Reporting/BI to improve data integrity and governance.
• Use SQL to extract, validate, and reconcile financial data.
• Coordinate annual operating expense planning with monthly forecasts.
• Analyze variances between plan and actuals; provide insights for decisions.
• Support cost center allocations and IFRS 17 reporting.
• Prepare monthly management information and Board decks.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
