Job summary

Michaels is seeking a Sr Financial Analyst in Irving, TX to drive financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. You will model financial scenarios, partner with cross-functional teams, and provide insights to Senior Leadership from our Irving Center.

The role requires 5+ years in FP&A, advanced Excel, and Power BI experience, with knowledge of SAP/Oracle/Hyperion. Retail familiarity is a plus and collaboration with diverse teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 5 years of finance experience in an FP&A function.
• Advanced excel skills and financial modeling required.
• Power BI experience.
• Strong communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle or Hyperion.
• Prior retail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, new store openings, product/category analysis, and promotional planning.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Prepare and distribute financial reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Analyze financial results, KPIs, and variances against plan; provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business drivers and align financial goals.
• Analyze and monitor cost structures to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead or support special financial projects and ad-hoc analyses.
