Job summary

American Electric Power Co. in Tulsa, OK, is seeking a Financial Analyst Staff to assist in preparing financial forecasts, variance analyses, and regulatory filings.

This role requires collaboration with operating company and business segment personnel to build assumptions using corporate models. You will prepare monthly/quarterly reports, support SEC reporting, develop pro forma rate case data and testimony, and mentor junior staff while seeking process improvements and cost-saving

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering.
  • 8+ years of work experience in FP&A or Accounting.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, CIA, PE, CFP or other professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop assumptions for financial forecasts with operating company input.
  • Perform monthly/quarterly variance reporting for budget vs. actual and prior year.
  • Prepare pro forma rate case data and testimony; assist/serve as witness.
  • Develop and manage staff; mentor analysts where applicable.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and revenue enhancement.
